Hungarian/Eastern European Banded Terracotta Vessel
This is a fantastically rustic wine or oil vessel that looks like it has stepped out of an archaeological dig. Bought at auction, it is attributed to the early 20th century but for items such as this, it can sometimes be difficult to tell as the process hasn’t changed much over the centuries.
This vessel is made from terracotta and is thought to be Hungarian or Eastern European. It is decorated with a band around its circumference. It has age-related marks but has no cracks.
It measures approximately 36cm high and is approximately 25cm in diameter counting the handle.
