Troides plateni, the Dr. Platen's birdwing, is a birdwing butterfly endemic to Palawan, Balabac, Dumaran, and the Calamian Islands in the Philippines. It is named for Dr. Carl Constantin Platen. This collection of three include the original labels of the collection.

Included here is also a Canopus Swallowtail, or Papilio fuscus dayacus, which was found in northern Borneo and is sometimes attributed to Rothschild.

This collection of butterflies, including this Blue Morpho, were part of a historic collection purchased at a UK auction in 2024 from specimens collected in the 1970s.
