19th century Indo-Persian Silvered Copper Cooking Pot (no. 1)

£45.00

I recently bought these at an auction because I was so taken with their design and beauty. These are solid copper cooking pots that were once silvered and are just gorgeous! The bottoms are slightly domed as they were made to hang over a fire rather than sit directly on top.

It is thought they are from the 19th century and from the Indo-Persian area of Asia. This smaller of the two pots is simple in design with carved bands around the circumference.

They are heavy for what they are, and this one measures about 20cm in diameter and about 22cm high with the hanging handle. This would make a fantastic plant pot, vase, or decorative item on a shelf. Get it before it goes home with someone else!
