Large Green Glass Demijohn (French)

£80.00

If you have a look through my store, you’ll notice I have a bit of a thing for coloured glass, especially when it has texture and age. This old French demijohn, originally used for fermenting wine, has it in spades! They’re beautiful for holding flowers, or being adapted into a lamp, or even just sitting on a shelf as its luscious curved self.

This demijohn has its cork and is a lovely shade of green. It stands about 55cm high and is approximately 125cm in circumference (39cm in diameter). I have taken photos of the bubbles in the glass which occurred when it was made, and there is one place that looks like a chip, but cannot be felt from the outside and doesn’t seem to have any affect on the integrity of the bottle.
