"The Dance" by Jean Baptiste Pater (1695-1736) painting
This is a beautiful print - and incredibly original-looking - by French artist Jean-Baptiste Pater (1695-1736). This colorful painting is joyfully named "The Dance" and its colours are gentle and rich, framed in a gilded wooden frame. The original hangs in The Wallace Collection in London and more information is available here: https://wallacelive.wallacecollection.org/eMP/eMuseumPlus?service=ExternalInterface&module=collection&objectId=65331&viewType=detailView
There is an Italian certificate of authenticity attached, dated 1984, which must be authenticating it as a print edition. Its life before or after that date is uknown, but it deserves to be loved in a new home! The frame has been reglued/stapled in the corners, and a small tear on the canvas has been taped to prevent any fraying or further damage.
Painting is 40 x 50cm, and framed the size is 54 x 65cm.
